Goodbye Miss Brown

Riley was very sad to hear that his teacher was leaving the school as she has accepted another job offer at a different school.  But his face lit up when I told him we could make a card together. He helped with the colour choices and the papers used. He let me do the fussy cutting and sticking. I hope that Miss Brown likes her card.

While I love this card with the lagoon,  hollyhock, flaxen and black, I love what Riley wrote on the inside... 

Inks and embossing

Last night I had the privilege to teach techniques and product knowledge at a monthly Close to my Heart meeting. I went through the inks that we sell, and some different ways of using them, as well as dry embossing and heat embossing. I liked that there were some curly questions asked and that the other consultants walked away with something new to try. There were lots of card ideas given too, so it should be a fun month for all of our creative customers!

Exclusive Inks and masking.

There are lots of different ways to mask and get different effects. These cards are both done with simple masks. The "so sorry " card was done with a circle off cut from a cricut and held in place while sponging CTMH Glacier close to the circle edge. I left the centre if the circle plain. Then I lifted the mask and stamped with the CTMH Happy to be friends stamp set.

The "happy birthday " card was masked using two strips of washi tape, stamped with fronds and flowers and then I removed the washi leaving a nice clean space to stamp the sentiment. I added a couple of CTMH Bitty Sparkles.

Cake and craft show

How exciting!   I have been working on classes for the upcoming cake and craft show that is being held in Ellerslie in two weeks time. I am teaching classes on all three days, and I am doing three cards for each class.  The cards are different for each day, and you can book classes directly through the show organisers.

May with Close To My Heart

What a full on month this has been! I am all ready for SENZ  and just waiting for a shipment of delicious papers to arrive so I can prepare up the last of the kits.  I still have a couple of place left,  and I am happy to say that so many have booked in already! 

Last week  I made some new friends at a class in Manurewa. Amazing ladies who all make cards, all very talented and all had heaps of fun! I can't put two of the cards up as I am using them next month for another large class,  but I will put them up then. 

Speaking of next month,  did you know that the Cake and Craft show is on? SENZ Class: Cards for him or her

The first card is perfect for giving to a coffee loving friend.  It is a pocket card, that allows you to put a sachet of coffee on the front of the card.


The second card is a tri panel card, which is a fantastic way to show off your favourite papers.

The third card uses strips of paper and stitching in the background, and pretty blue sequins.
